Comprehensive Guidance and Counseling Career and personal counseling is available to all students by a certified guidance counselor. Referrals are made to the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation for any student who meets the eligibility requirements. Linkages to postsecondary schools, military recruiters and other agencies can also be made through the counselor. Students will review their Career Plan with the guidance counselor. Parents are encouraged to discuss their child's post-high school plans. The following is available in the Guidance Office: Career Reference Library (videos, school catalogs, books, etc.) Job search Financial Aid search Postsecondary schools search Referrals to outside agencies Assistance in arranging appointments with military recruiters, postsecondary schools, etc. Personal confidential counseling Career Guidance Selective Service registration
Student Assistance Program (SAP) In Pennsylvania , every middle and high school and some elementary schools have a Student Assistance Program (SAP). A team of school staff is here to help your child through difficult times. If you feel that your child may need help, call your child's school and ask to speak with a member of the Student Assistance Program team. Someone will be there to help. The SAP Team will request that you sign a permission form for your child to become involved in the program. Participation is voluntary.
