PRACTICAL NURSING PROGRAM
Program Description & Curriculum: The Practical Nursing Program is a twelve month training program divided into three levels. Each level is a prerequisite for the next, therefore satisfactory completion of each level is required to progress to the next level. Theoretical instruction and clinical experience are scheduled Monday through Friday. Theoretical hours are 7:45a.m. - 3:15 p.m. Clinical hours vary according to assigned facility.

In the third level, students may spend four (4) days a week in the clinical setting continuing their Medical/Surgical, Pediatric, and Special Area Clinical Experiences.
Students who successfully complete the Practical Nursing Program will be eligible to write the State Board Examination for licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
Advanced Placement Policy: Credit for previous education and/or experience will be determined on an individual basis and will be granted according to program’s standards.
Admission Requirements:
High School graduate or satisfactory achievement on equivalency examination.
Satisfactory achievement on pre-entrance admission examination.
Satisfactory references and personal interview.
Criminal history report and Pennsylvania Child Abuse clearance.
Satisfactory physical condition as determined by a physical examination.
Tuition & Fees: Current amount of tuition is $8400.00.
Additional costs are approximately $1214.00.
(Additional costs include books, uniforms, and licensure fees).
Total Estimated Program Cost: $9614.00
*Finantial Aid is available for those who qualify.
Notice to All Applicants:
EXCERPTS from the Pennsylvania Nurse Practice for Practical Nurses (Act 110):
“ The State Board shall not issue a license or certificate to an applicant who has been convicted of a felonious act prohibited by the Controlled Substance, Drug, Device and Cosmetic Act, or Convicted of a felony relating to a controlled substance in court of law of the United States or any other State, Territory, or County unless: (1) at least ten (10) years have elapsed since the date of conviction; (2) the applicant satisfactorily demonstrates significant progress in rehabilitation since the conviction and the licensure of the applicant should not be expected to create a substantial of harm to the health and safety of patients or the public; (3) the applicant otherwise satisfies the qualifications contained in or authorized by the act. (Convicted shall include a judgment, an admission of guilt or a plea of Nolo Contendere.)”
